This is why leg sites suck for me.

Gotta love it when you bend an infusion set after its been in your leg for 3 days.   This is why leg sites are so hard for me.  They get bent.  Being thin is not always the greatest thing in the world when you rely on body fat for insulin pump sites and you cant use your abdomen at all because it hurts like hell there.

  1. You're absolutely right about being thin! I've had T1D for 41 years now, & have some issues with scarring interfering with insulin absorption @ infusion site. I alternate my Dexcom CGM sites between arms & legs. I alternate upper rear, abdomen (sides) and moobs for infusion sites (Tandem t:slim). This seems to work to avoid blockage/breakage of infusion needles.

  2. I am so so worried about future scar tissue from pumping! I have nodule scar tissue around my belly button from 8 yrs of injections. Since pumping 8 years ago I have not used my stomach. I am on a tslim too, first was a Medtronic pump. Pumping has given me extra body fat, the kind that wont go away with weight loss, its directly caused by pumping. Someday I hope to get all the damage from insulin and a nearly 10 pound baby fixed. That 10 pounder really messed up my stomach. I rotate as widely as I can. I recently branched out to thighs and calves for Dexcom and Im on my second site in my thigh for my pump.
